At Essential Solutions, the Certified HealthCare Advisor™ (CHCA™) designation represents the professional standard we are establishing for our advisor member services. The CHCA™ designation is endorsed by Essential Solutions as a standard of knowledge, professionalism, responsibility, and service that we expect our advisors to bring to every member relationship.
It is more than a certification. It represents our commitment to developing knowledgeable healthcare advisors who put the needs of their members first. Our goal is for every Essential Solutions advisor to strive to achieve the CHCA™ designation and, more importantly, to consistently deliver the standard of care that the designation represents.
To become a Certified HealthCare Advisor™, an advisor must complete the comprehensive CHCA™ education program and earn a score of 80% or greater on the final certification examination.
Certification is not intended to be a one-time accomplishment. Healthcare, Medicare, Social Security, regulations, plan options, and the needs of our members continually change. For that reason, CHCA™ advisors are required to complete annual recertification to maintain their designation and demonstrate their commitment to continued professional development.
Our vision is for the CHCA™ designation to become a recognized standard of excellence within the healthcare advisory industry.
When a member sees CHCA™ after an advisor's name, we want it to mean something.
It should tell that member that their advisor has completed extensive education and demonstrated a higher level of knowledge and commitment to serving their healthcare needs.
But being a CHCA™ is about more than knowledge.
It means taking the time to conduct a complete assessment of each member's individual needs rather than simply enrolling someone in a plan. It means understanding their healthcare priorities, providers, prescriptions, financial considerations, and personal circumstances so the advisor can help identify the coverage that best fits their needs.
Most importantly, the CHCA™ standard does not end when the enrollment is completed.
A Certified HealthCare Advisor™ understands that enrollment is only the beginning of the member relationship.
Our advisors are expected to remain a resource for their members—providing ongoing customer care, answering questions, helping members navigate changes, reviewing coverage when appropriate, and being available when healthcare needs arise.
